Welcome

A very warm welcome to our school. We are so pleased you have taken the time to look at our school website.

Our school has been a part of St Mary’s Platt since 1847 and was originally built “for the education of the labouring, manufacturing and other poorer classes in the Chapelry District…for promoting the education of the poor” (Wishart, Essays Concerning the History of Platt Primary school, 2015, p.3).

The school has been rebuilt twice and we have been in our current building since September 2021. We have a spacious, bright and airy building with large grounds including a dedicated Forest School area.

Platt Church of England Primary School (voluntary aided) is proud to be a church school.  Our distinctive Christian Vision is driven by the parable of the mustard seed – the children are like seeds with the potential to grow and flourish.  The school vision promotes rich experiences and excellent curriculum provision, resulting in happy confident pupils, who achieve well, feel safe and genuinely care for each other.

We are dedicated to providing the very best education for the children who attend our school.  As our vision is based on the parable of the mustard seed; as Head teacher, it is my job to ensure the conditions for growth are right, across the school, in all lessons and times of the school day.

You are more than welcome to come and view our school. Please contact the school office where we can arrange an appointment for you office@platt.kent.sch.uk

We look forward to welcoming you and I hope you find our website useful.

Mrs Emma Smith (Head teacher) and the school staff.
